Gareth Ainsworth

I have just had a lovely chat with Gareth Ainsworth (no, honestly).
He lives in Wokingham, as do I. He’s in a band & is playing a gig in the town centre today.
I asked him if he could tell me anything about next season & if he was in discussions with the club. Obviously he couldn’t really tell me anything - all he said was that there had been discussions.
My feeling was, however, that he will not be Stevenage manager next season. He seemed slightly surprised when I asked him. He is a really nice bloke though & was really happy to chat.
I did bring up the subject of QPR. He said ‘the whole club is f**ked’ but he also pointed out that the club stayed up with the help of all the players he signed!

He could well be coming to us - it’s just my take on his response but he wouldn’t be able to say anything either way. He certainly didn’t deny it!

3 - Revs gets it after a long delay when it's clear he isn't first choice candidate.
Awkward.

Not necessarily awkward as it would be the same situation for any of the candidates that get the job.
They won't know the cicumstances surrounding the recruitment decision.
Whatever the circumstances, if you have thrown your hat in the ring and you come out tops, what the hell, you've won.

Apparently he and Westley are best mates, so that's our new management team sorted
